Pablo Picasso’s Buste de femme à la chemise (1922) is auctioned by Christie’s
for the first time since 1939‚ when the Nazis removed the painting from a
German museum and sold it in an infamous auction of so–called “degenerate” art.

Austrian academic painter Hans Makart. Hitler bought the painting legitimately from art dealer
Karl Haberstock. It is now in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich.
